Let's Talk About Pollen For A Moment
So, I was just working on a new blog about going on dates with myself/yourself (which WILL be posted tonight!), sitting in the middle of the park. But there's a major distraction floating through the air. . . and in my face.
Thank God for not giving me allergies otherwise I would be a puffy, snot-nosed writer right about now. I probably wouldn't be able to see my laptop screen; this would be even worse seems how there's major glare interrupting my view of what I'm typing.
But anyway, the other day I came up with a great description of pollen, and I figured I would build off of it and just create a spontaneous poem. So here goes.
Pollen.
Daytime fireflies.
Dandelions that learned how to fly.
Summer snow.
Dust bunnies that left home.
Old memories being dusted off for a yard sale.
Dehydrated sea foam making its way inland.
The physical manifestation of a sneeze.
Cloud babies.
God's dandruff, if He had dandruff.
Our loved ones blown kisses from the sky.
Fairy wigs.
Cartoon steamboat smoke.
The closest I'll get to dancing with the stars.
The fuzz in my stomach when you kiss me.
Evaporated beer foam.
A dry bubble bath.
The number of I love you's held behind a scared tongue.
The number of goodbye's never spoken.
The Wind's Summer freckles.
That kid riding his bike that just sneezed about six times in a row.
Pooh Bear's fluff that he can't seem to keep in.
The Waterskipper's cousins, Airskippers.
*GASP* Airbenders.
Butterflies reincarnate.
My cat's fur that goes with me literally, everywhere.
New graduates: confused, aimlessly wandering, but peculiar and beautiful.
What bliss feels like.
Pollen.
It's not that bad.
I hope you guys enjoyed reading this poem as much as I loved writing it. It's been difficult for me to actually write happy poetry, but lately I'm getting the hang of it.
Till my next blog or two tonight.
